Yami must be really afraid of those penalties to go so far in the other direction. It's so bad that I don't know the last time that I even looked at either of my speedos. Platinum Boarder Posts: 7083 Re:GPS Speed vs Speedometer? 3 Years, 7 Months ago   I'm going to purchase the "speed-healer", but until then, I guess I'll just use my TomTom GPS on the longer trips, and yes, I have the RAM mount and I also added a 12VDC plug in to keep it charged on the long trips. I lay my faith in the GPS. On a side note the milage is off by four miles every 100 on my odometer. Basically it's 1 for every 25. This is the second test like this that I have done so I am fairly certain that my 17,000 miles I currently have on the Star really should read around 10,200. So there isn't any way you will get pulled over for speeding because the speedo is off unless you are ignoring the speedo and just plain going over the speed limit. I'm guessing it's a liability thing because of different countries regulations. Reading fast is safe. Reading slow isn't. But that's just a guess. I'm pretty sure if you fix the speedo you'll mess up the odo. The if the speedo says I'm doing 65mph, I want to be doing 65mph. I don't want to have to "Guess" at my speed and tell the nice LEO that I "Guessed" wrong on what my Actual speed was because the Manufacture didn't want the "Liability" of having me speed. It just doesn’t make sense. For now, I'll ride with the GPS when ever I can.
