Hey TopNotch. A 195 tire will fit but the narrow rim/wider tire causes a bit of high speed wobble. I'll paste a post below that I copied over at the Darksiders.
By the way, I have over a 1000 miles on a Kumho that I put on the rear of my Venture. Can't tell that it rides or handles any differently. The difference? Approx. 300lbs more load capacity, 1/3 of the cost of a M/C tire and 3 times the life.

Here on "Riding the Dark Side" we are trying to solve the Roadstar Wobblies. Your help will be appreciated. Over the years we have found that certain tires work on bikes, others just don't. Some bikes are forgiving and give us several choices, others don't. There are many Roadstars on the road, we will solve this problem, as we have solved others in the past.

We found there are 3 tires for example for the Suzuki LC 1500 that offer riders a choice of several different riding styles.

We have found there are 3 different tires that work well for the Star Liners with a choice of riding styles.

We haver found 1 tire and are working on another tire for the Star 1300T's.

1st of all let's point out that the DS tires on a Road* is in it's pioneer stages.

Lets's run with the facts we know:

1. The Roadie uses a very narrow rim.

2. There are no tires that are 195/60/16 or larger that DO NOT show signs of wobble on the Roadies. Even though there is room to mount the tire.

3.

4. 5. The DS tire requires a very sticky Frt tire such as the Pirelli MT66 @ 40#PSI (on most bikes) to match up with the DS tires. (Has anyone matched up this tire to your DS tire?)

6. My DS FAQ #2 states that we should use a DS tire that is no more than 15-25 mm wider than the OEM size, this limits us to the 185 MM wide tires as the widest we have had no wobblies.

7. 175 and 185 /75/16s on our Roadies. I have heard of no wobble problems.

8. The tires that are the most stable have a design that is similar to this a "V" pattern, or same on both sides of center.

9. The bikes that do not have wobbles have: windshields, lowers, and have not modified their suspensions, and are using the tires mentioned above.

10. The bikes that have probs are using a tire size 195/60/16 in either the Dunlop Sport 5000, the Turanza, or a Bridgestone Potenza (in 205/60/16)tire. FROM PAST EXPERIENCES WE KNOW THIS IS TOO LARGE (195/60/16 and larger) CAN CREATE A WOBBLE PROBLEM.

11. Some of the bikes having wobbles are using fairings, all are using a tire that is too wide..

So I ask you guys that are running them, what else is fact, not speculation?

This can be figured out. Any help will be appreciated.

Later, BIGFOOT"
