Rear Fender/Turn Signal Question 3 Years, 6 Months ago
Is there any difference (other than the obvious taillight change) between the 1600 and 1700 fenders? More specifically, is there a difference in how the turn signal bar/license plate bracket mount to the fender? (bolt pattern, fender contour, etc)

Want to get the Kuryakyn rear turn signal bar for my 1600, but they only list it as fitting the 1700's. From what I can tell in photo's, the turn signal bar/license plate brackets appear to be the same on both.

I don't think it will work BECAUSE of the tombstone tail light. If you look on their Metric web page (link below) they show a slimline turn signal for the 99 - 03 models. Not what you want, probably, but that appears to be the choice. You might try calling their 800 number and talking to one of their tech guys for a definitive answer.

I saw that option, but as I already have a run/brake/turn LED taillight I really don't want to spend the extra $50 they want for the Tombstone/Turn combo they offer. I mean really...$300 for a taillight and two small bullet turn signals? That's a little ridiculous. On top of that, I'd still have to purchase a license plate mount to boot.

I guess worse case scenario is that I have to drill some new mounting holes in my fender. Not a problem as long as all the old unused holes would be covered.
