WOW..adds up FAST! 3 Years, 6 Months ago
Was just sitting around calculating how much cash I spent on accessories and goodies for the bike. Now bike aint all decked out so Im sure others got a bit more invested in thier rides. But just to get it where I wanted it....minus the lowers I just remembered! (sorry dude, I forgot! I will email ya, hope ya still got 'em.)ANYWAY.. I totalled up just shy of $3500 not counting taxes and what not. I have done:
Bars-cables-grips-endcaps-risercover-hypercharger-jetted-exhaust-saddlebags- tour pack- sissybar and pad-driver backrestpad-windshield and mounts-tank protector-windshield bag-passenger floorboards-luggage rack- and LED's. Im sure im forgetting to list something but thats no biggie. Adds up quick.

Don't think of those as expenses... they are "investments" when you consider the return you are getting!

I try not to think about it. I know I could have went cheaper had I not been changing my mind all the time. If you have the discipline to map out where you want to end and stick with it. It can be a lot cheaper. I don’t have that!

Yeh, no map here... I just come here, read lots of posts, and say... Hey, I'd like to do that! Works for me. I'm not looking for huge changes. I'm into minor performance and appearance mods... subtle stuff, just to set it apart enough for others to say... "Hey, what is it about this bike... there's something different about it." And that's only for the knowing sort, so they come, take a look, and appreciate the subtlety about the minor differences.

I started out that way, it’s the subliminal messaging that Gram puts in the code.

I hear ya This is what I added:

  • Performance: hypercharger (with gold trap door and butterflies), HK 3" big straight exhaust

  • Seat: Mustang 3 piece seat with rider's back rest

  • Chrome: Timing cover, floorboard covers, shift peg covers, brake pedal cover, billet grips, show chrome turn signal visors (all 4), show chrome turn signal accents (rear 2), fender rail (yami), fender tips (front & rear), rear master cylinder cover, baron's engine guard, kury long-horn dually highway pegs.

  • Electrical: Kury Triple Whammy RTB controller, kury 3-way accessory switch

  • Lighting: LED Coversion (all 4 reflectors), yami light bar with sealed beam cans, adjure tri-bar black dot halogen passing lamps and headlight, kury silver bullets, led engine lighting, infinity streamliner for hypercharger, kury eagle fender ornament

  • Other: yami tall sissy bar (sold short one), rear passenger floorboards (yami)

This adds up to a little under $5000.

Want yet to do:

-WOC fairing
-chrome wheels (either chrome existing ones or get 50 spoke wheels like dj1duke has)
-new saddle bags and matching trunk
-air suspension
-freedom exhaust pipes (my existing pipes are cracked)
-more chrome (front and rear ends, some additional engine chrome, pully, chrome passenger floorboards)
-new paint job
-lowers
-tank bib

This is about another $6K-$7K.

I think I'm going into the Roadstar online accessories business!

Or at least a chroming & powder coating business.

FYI - I bought my * from my brother in law. He said that the extras & bling was worth more than he was asking for the bike, which was Kelly Blue Book value. So if you want to invest, it's one thing. Don't expect to get that money back unless you find someone with deep pockets that wants your bike.
