Seats 3 Years, 6 Months ago
Hey Guys, I was on the site last week and someone was talking about seats. Does anyone have a Pic of their bike with a seat from Pacific Coast Stars? What is the difference from a stock seat. I have a 2006 RS. Looking a the pics on their site I like either style just would like to get more info. Thanks Jim

I have one on a 2006 RS and like it. I also have a back rest with it. I can now spend a couple hours in the saddle with no problem. I will get you some photos tomorrow.

My sig pic has a PCS seat on it. I can email you a better pic if you PM me with your addy. There isn't much difference if you are looking for a touring seat. For normal riding, it sits me about 1.5 inches lower than stock.

Do they slim the seat down a bit or just lower it? I'm guessisg that you have the classic.

Yes, I have the classic. It is the same width, they just reshape the foam.

I'm really thinking of going with one of these: http://www.pacificcoaststar.com/pcs/road_star_original_seat.htm

I've got the Corbin Dual Tour, and it tears up my lower back because it has NO support, and with my feet on the highway pegs, my right hip starts to ache after a mere twenty miles. I've got do so something about this seat. It's killin' me.

That is the same seat I have, and it has no back support either. In fact, the scoop shape puts pressure towards the rear of your butt and gets uncomfortable after a while. I really shouldn't knock it, I did 2 iron butts in a week this summer with this seat. But at about 400 miles into the first one, I had no idea my ass could hurt that bad. I was using luggage/sleeping bag as a backrest. Next summer, I will have an Ultimate seat w/backrest. I rode a Roadie with one in Laconia, and as far as my butt goes, it is a perfect fit. But I will still use my PCS seat for <250 mile rides.

The ultimate seat sits you lower also. Just a little more forward. I loved me.

Frank, too bad it turned cold, I'd meet you in Nashville and you could try mine out. If you don't get one by spring, I'll let ya give it a try.
