I can relate. I like a little rumble, but really loud pipes took away from riding for me. I found with the Propipe I could wrap the baffle and adjust them to my liking.

I totally am with you guys.
I was embarrassed to ride my Roadie when I bought it.
The Reinhart Drag pipes, sounded like the old generator on my Grandfather's cattle barn.
Can't have that, so I put the OEM pipes on.
Ahhhh.

I felt the stock pipes a little to tame for my ears. I have to agree with javewave also. A nice deep rumble is nice. If most of my experience is noise when I ride I don't enjoy it as much. Before I put the dooleys on I had a 2 into one BUB set up. Nice but a little loud and I had decided I was going for the dooley look anyway. I still have it in my garage along with the stock set up. I do like the idea of the car beside me potentially hearing me. I don't know if that's realistic with there windows up, stereo blairing, and talking on the cell phone though.

The only thing I really don't like about the OEM pipes is that you can't put a decent set of bags on the bike. However, I do like pipes that are a bit louder than stock. Tone is really more important than volume to me.

I agree, I put the Krome Werks slash cuts on my 07, and it is to loud for me. Winter project will be to do a Stage 1 on my stock pipes and put them back on the bike.

pyeratt,

Are the dooleys as loud as a stage 3 version of the OEM pipes?

Yesterday I was running with another Roadie and he had those Cobra straights.....sounded like ass! I much prefer my Samson Ripsaws. Not to aweful loud at cruising speed but if I have to gun it to get by you they will blow your windows out! LOL. My bike wil always be loud. Personal thing I guess. As some one stated before, the OEM pipes wont let ya get good size bags on, Hell, might as well strap a lunchbox on you bike. Gotta have good bags.

Chevyhoss, I have never heard stage 3 OEM before. I can't compare them to that. You can get an idea of what dooleys sound like from a Youtube done on it. Maybe try a search here for that. I found it by a search on a forum thread. Pyeratt
