I wanted to lower my bags. Stock yami bags are too high on the bike for my taste. thats the reason I changed my pipes out to begin with .

I like my rez-techs - only loud when ya wanna be.

I have a bud who rides a screamin eagles sportser with drag pipes.

He wears ear plugs all the time on it. Why bother??!!

I have to agree Bush, if you need to wear ear plugs for your own bike, you may be too loud.

I wear my ear plugs often when I go for long rides. It cuts the wind noise and I'm not as tired when I get to my destination. I agree with the rez-tech. I have Roadburners that use the same technology, and they sound sweet thru ear plugs.

The loudest street bike I've ever heard to date was a 2005 Road Star Silverado (same as mine) with 3" Nasty Pipes on it. Made my teeth hurt following that thing!

Me? Stock pipes and breather. I like them quiet, too. If I could get a deeper, richer tone out of mine without increasing the db level, I'd probably do it.

Try the stage one mod on the stock. Just a little more rumble but not too much louder. I tried it out before moving strait onto the stage three mod because I personally wanted them a little louder, although, my wife liked it there. Three is about the right sound for me, but I would like to be able to lower the rear pegs and the stock pipes don't allow for that. So, I'll probably be looking to change them soon anyway.

Ratl.
