Ok guys for what it's worth. I used this program to quit!http://www.lifesign.com/
I was a smoker for 19 years, I tried many different ways with no smoking programs but the lifesign worked for me. I will say that I did the nicorette gum for about 2 months after I finished the lifesign program. The one thing I did while I was trying to quit and even for months after, I took a white ink pen and unscrewed it and kept the bottom part of it. I kept it in my top pocket and when I would think about a cigarette I would pull the white pen out and put it in my mouth and pretend it was a cigarette. I know it may sound weird but it worked. When I read this entire thread I can see others went through what I did to quit and how hard it was but once you do quit for good you feel so much better. This year July 5th made 19 years without. So I'm over the hump now. And I know for a fact that I would never go back and I would never attempt to even take a puff of a cigarette cause I know I would be hooked again. And even after this many years I can still once in a great while get a wiff of a cigarette and it will smell good but that is so rare now, cause 99% of the time I get one wiff and I gag cause it stinks so bad
Do your best to tell yourself this! That little piece of paper and tobacco is not stronger then you!! Don't let it beat you!

after i decided to quit, i carried an unopened pack with me, just in case of an emergency. I knew they were there if i really needed them and that helped, but i talked myself out of opening them up every time. My wife got really ticked because it was so easy for me, and so hard for her. I think she takes a little toke out behind the barn every now and then, but she won't admit it.

That's actually a line from an old, OLD song called SAVED by LaVern Baker... The smoking and drinking, been there, done that, but I may have to start another thread on what exactly the hoochie coo is. I think I may have done quite a bit of it, but just not too sure...

ok dude.....you got a real problem. I enjoy Copenhagen on occasion (shhhh....don't tell the wifie) and I used to like Cherry Skoal but now it just makes me too light headed. the "benefits" of dip is I can do it at my desk whereas smokers have to go outside and I'm not addicted (yet....i know...i know...)

I saw Rick and Alvin Lee and Jeff Beck in 1973 at the Atlanta Municipal Auditorium in 1973 the acoustics in that place were great...that was before they all got greedy and started doing concerts in the domes and stadiums where the acoustics suck.....CougB)
