Currently have the stock air box and plan to keep it for now until I can save up some more $$. I have heard that there is a way to get more air flow through the stock air box/filter, and that there was a tipsheet on that within the Road Star Clinic (I can't find it). Anyone have any tips on that? Should I get another stock air box to modify; and does anyone have one they want to get rid of? Looks pretty easy. I am concerned about water exposure with the way this one looks very open on the front side. I wonder if I could get the same benefits from knocking out most of the inside/back side (closest to the carb) of the box. Cooler air is better for the engine and power, putting holes in the back will draw warm engine air in. A lot like the stock box does. Drilling in the back would work, but not the optimal way to go. As for rain ... yeah, that is a concern for a paper filter, maybe get a K&amp;N to replace the stock one.
