gonna guess what greysnake was trying to do was send you to the exploded parts diagrams on the yamaha site. it helps to understand how things fit together.

Just the pedal or whole assembly?

If it is just the pedal. Just remove the cotter pin and pin.

If it is the assembly then it is two nuts on the back of the two welded bolts going through the floorboard bracket.

Mine is an "06" Roadie and the pedal is spring loaded and folds upward. The pin is on the inboard side (closest to the motor) at the top of the brake pedal arm. The cotterpin or circlip is on the backside. Just unbend it with some needle nose and yank it out.
