Are all Stock Carbs the same? 3 Years, 5 Months ago
Hello! I'm wondering if all the Roadie carbs come set the same from the factory even if the bike is at altitude. Just seeing if anyone knows, cause then I'll have some more questions. Thanks!

What I'm trying to find out is if they are all jetted the same!! Thanks
Oh, for 2004 and up!!

The jets and needle are the same but the PMS can be all over the place.

OK, so my bike is at 7000 ft. Seems like I could do a BAK or the like without changing a thing. I guess thats where I am going with this.

Kinda took the long way around asking.

Maybe. Maybe not. Don't do it if you aren't willing to put whatever time and effort you need to get it tweaked right.

Yeah probably so, huh. Anyway, just notice that all you guys are running much smaller jets and needles and have exhaust and a Bak. I;m planning on those mods this winter! By The way Musky, how are you liking the Pro Pipe

GJ, cheers neighbor.

I'm in Albuquerky using Mr. C's K&N filter mod with stage III stock pipes and removed AIS. It took a little while, more than a few WOT tests and some PMS tweaking, but, I'm pretty happy with the results.

I used Roadkill's set up on his carb as a starting point and adjusted from there. Right now I'm running a stock Mikuni with a Dynojet 170 main, DJ needle set at the 4th clip and my PMS 3 & 1/8 turns out.
Running great and I'm not fouling out my plugs anymore.

BTW, it's a lot easier to do my PMS adjustments without the stock air cleaner cover in the way.

Hope it helps you get started. Check on Roadkill's setup too, he's in Santa Fe like yourself.

Ratl.

The stock needle is so fat that you have to have the larger main jet in there to make it work. Assuming your jetting is ok as is, adding a bak and new pipes will make it lean. You will need to rejet with a good aftermarket kit to get it right. Something like Baron's kit.
