Coug, are you running pumpless? Was wondering what effect it would have , if any, if you were running w/o a pump. I thought I read where it would be a good idea to cut 1/2 of the copper tube for better flow as the tank got empty.

Glad you reminded me, the OEM petcock above has been altered as I cut 1/2 inch off the main tube because it was going to reserve 20 miles earlier than when I had a pump on.It did put it back to normal.I bought the petcock to complement my pingle HiFlo filter as well as for the looks. I also bought some stainless line but not sure if I will install it as I wanted the clamps for the line setup I have now .If I bought the clamps without the line it would have been $2.50 more so the line was a bonus I guess.I will let you guys know if I notice any changes that occur .I am on the way out to the shop to start grinding on the tank so the new petcock will fit......just hope 4 days with no gas in the tank it will be okay to grind on it it still has a gas aroma to it ....Coug

Bought the same fuel valve and the filter together, pricey but well worth the $$$; it is a solid well made product, and an obvious upgrade. Only wish I have is that it had a detent at each setting.
I'am running pumpless with no problems at all, but VENT your gas cap. I ran a copper fuel line from filter to carb. The copper line bends easy and you can keep it a good distance from the rear cylinder, also took a small piece of fuel line (1" in length) cut it lengthwise put it around the copper for cushion/insulation and ziptied it around the intake. This setup has worked great so far. As soon as I figure out how to send pics I'll do it. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Why do you have to grind? I read some reviews on the Pingel and everyone said install was easy. I'm confused (that many have more to do with some things I've ingested over the year but none the less)?

I want to put in the Pingel and their filter and a larger fuel line and go pumpless without opening up the carb again (my pump is moved to the sidecover and I need the room for something else). I think it will work. Comments?

If you look a few threads back I posted a pic of the OEM and the pingle valves. The OEB has 2 thin intakes side by side the pingle is in one cylindrical mesh tube the hole has to be wider to allow mounting sooooooooo you have to grind the hole. I am currently running the oem valve and 5/16th's line and have no feed problems.I have never starved for gas even when running wide open throttle for don't know how long but kicking it at the top of an interstate ramp till out hmmmm 1/4 mile down the road so I see any need for a larger line.It did cause me to go to the reserve 20 miles early so I cut 1/2 inches off the main intake and that solved that .I went 10 miles on reserve at the most because of the early going to reserve .I do run my line over my manifold so I am sure if need be I can go below and it will run every drop out...I hope This mod is mainly aesthetic for me ...and I too heard it was a simple installation...and it is just gotta be patient if you do as recommended and use a hand file to open the hole and that is supposed to keep filings out of the tank but if you do that you have to wipe the filings every time or they will fall off within a few strokes ...hope this helps ...Coug

You now don't want to hear this but ...... it's a problem getting the Pingle to seal. I've had continuing leaking problems with mine.
