I see that on the Venture Hard Saddlebags, on your Roadstar, you have trim around the lid of the Hard Saddlebag. Is this something that cam purchased somewhere??

Re:Royal Star Hard Saddlebags on a Road Star 4 Years, 6 Months ago
I just purchased a set of Venture Saddlebags for my '2000 RoadStar, please see the attached picture of it. My wife likes to ride with me most of the time, so I really need a backrest on it. Right now I have one, but do not think it will work with the Hard Saddlebags. I see you do have a backrest along with your Hard Saddlebags. Any suggestions on what type of backrest I should be looking for??
Your help is most appreciated.

Young Man,
What type of backrest and bracket are you using for the passenger with your Venture Hard Saddlebags?? Please see the Attached pic, pic shows the type of backrest I have on my Road*. I am placing a set of Venture Hard Saddlebags that I just purchased. I don't think my existing backrest will work. What do you think.
One more thing, how did you get your Hard Saddlebags so low on you ride. Your suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.
Man, you have one nice looking ride!!
Thanks

Hey abel
I can't help you with the backrest question, but someone who's got a backrest with the RSV bags will get back to you shortly.
Hang in there with the pix thing, we've all had to go through the learning curve on that one.

This message is addressed to "thebru". In your very first message, of this topic, you indicate you might be able to help. I just purchased Venture Hard Saddlebags along with all the Mounting Brackets and Guard Stays. What am I going to have to do to make this work for me?? Might you have pictures of what your mounting brkts. look like without the Saddlebags? Would I be using the Guard Stays to mount the Guards? You help will be greatly appreciated. I did try to find the earlier threads, but could not find them.
On the following link, another person placed the Venture Hard Saddlebags. He to, shows the mounting Brackets without the bags. I do see an extra piece at the lower front mounting to the frame. Is your method similar to the attached? and/or were extra brackets added on yours??

Again, I do thank you very much for your help and advise.
