MS1700, I agree with the leaf blower to dry it. There is no quicker way to get the water out of the hart-to-get-to areas.

S-100 all over for me.....works great on the bugs on the fairing to engine grime and dirt on the sidewalls. like they said, a little expensive but a little goes quite a ways.
they have some polish and wax also...i use the nevrdull too...works good on the rest.

If your looking for something to get the grime buildup off quick and cheeply, I have used Simple Green for the dollar store, it's cheep but mix it half with water, DON'T use it strait!...I would not advise to use it regulary, but wax everything after you have cleaned it. Simple Green is not like other degreasers with harmfull chemicals but it works great. The easiest wax I have found is RainX Easy Wax, I use it on all paint, chrome, and on the black motor and plastic, it doesn't dry solid like most waxes and it's easy to buff off even when it gets on the tires it comes off clear with no residue. You can also apply this wax while the bike is still wet and it works great!

if I've been caught in the rain or some mud I wash with a hose, warm water in a gallon bucket with about 2 drops of Dawn, and a micro fiber rag. Rinse it well, blow dry with the leaf blower. Pledge is all I use anymore for shining it. it's amazing stuff.
I also use Pledge between washings like right after a ride (or right before the next one).

The thing I hate the most about washing my bike is drying it !! I do not have a leaf blower or anything like it , so it really really does get on my nerves , so I go old school !! just half a bucket of water , yes only water , a clean cloth to scrub and a clean and dry cloth to dry I love the way my "Salma" looks after a good bath

WARNING be careful with car washes i used one for my YZFR6 and is left a nasty resadue of chunky way all over took more time to clean the nasty wax off the it would have to just wash the bike with a bucket and water.

i think im gonna give this S100 stuff a try.

I've never had to take the hose or a bucket of water to mine, but if I did, I'd use a nozzle on the hose, rather than a pressure washer or anything like that.

Even if you don't have a leaf blower or anything, water spots aren't that big of a deal. Pledge takes 'em right off.
