Finally done .
These are so easy to make and very cheap to build .
I have a total of $90.00 invested . I don't count
man hours cause I'm drinkin beer and having fun
First thing you do is cut off the flaired end of the chrome tail
pipe (the other end is slash cut .) The 2"x1 7/8" adapter goes into
the pipe with approx. 3/8" of the bell showing . These get weldedd in .
Be sure to put wet rags on the chrome so weld BBs don't stick to the pipe.
Next , on the 1 7/8" end split the pipe 4 ways just like the original
mufflers. I recomend new gaskets cause the ones in the mufflers don't
come out in one piece .
Next position the bottom pipe on the head pipe (a helper is handy)
Figure the length you need for the bracket from the frame brkt. to
the center of the chrome pipe while holding it paralell to the
head pipe . add 1 1/4 " . this where you will make a 90deg. bend for
bolting it to the frame . Drill a 3/8" hole in the s/s bar and bolt
it to the frame with original allen head bolt . Position pipe and tack it.
Cover all exposed chrome and paint with a towel or somthing . Remove it , weld it
put it back on using clamps from mufflers / repeat for top pipe .
