Anyone have any idea what this is? 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Stupid question, but does anyone have any idea what this is, or where it is from??? I just got done pulling the carb to check jetting, and while I was at it, pulled the manifold and ported it. So I had the bike torn down pretty good. When it was all back together, I found this gasket looking thing on the floor beside the left side of the bike. Is it from the bike, or was it maybe there and came from somewhere else. It is soft rubber, like a gasket , and pretty small. I have ran the bike and no leaks but just am really wondering where this came from.

Looks like it's the rubber seal from inside one of the electrical connections for the speedo/insturment housing.

I obviously had that off the bike, so will pull it off and check. I guess it is better a seal missing than a gasket. Either way would like to find a home.

Aaron is exactly right. I have one identical to it in my wallet until the next time I have the tank off.

Came off the connector under the tank.

Just an FYI but there isn't any need to pull those connections apart. Just throw a towel over your bars and lights and lay the dashboard on the towel with everything still connected..

Didn't even read the replys, I bet it's an electrical plug gasket; everytime I take my dash/speedo off that gasket falls out of the plug. That may not be where yours is from but I bet that's what it is.
