You know, if they just lowered the retail of these bikes they wouldn't have to cut employees...I've always told my friends who have tried to get me to buy a harley that when they can get the price in the ballpark of comparable machines, I'll be first in line.

Microsoft announces layoffs amid weak earnings .... TechSpot

It's happening all round and will get worse before it gets better.

Who's going to buy stuff if your job is shakey or you're unemployed? It's a viscous circle.

They are fortunate, they still made a profit. Alot of business is not having the good fortune. Yamaha announced the suspension of production at 11 plants world wide. It is tough out there for everyone right now.

I HATE LAYOFF AND I HAVE HAD HD IN MY TIME THEY WENT UP$ I GOT OFF I HAVE GOT A NEW CUSTOMS THAT HAS A 127"ULTIMA ENGINE AND IT A ROLLINGTHUNDER 330 FRAME BUT IT NOT A HD AND THEY WILL LET YOU NO THAT ITS NOT A HARLEY ITS FUN BUT IT WILL NOT HOLD UP TO THE ROADSTAR ENGINES AND HD WILL NOT. AND THE ROAD STAR IS ABOUT 30% TO 40% LESS THAN THE HD AND WILL OUT RIDE IT, SO THE WAY THINGS ARE WHAT WOULD BUY?

DUGI .. unless you have vision problems please type with the Caps Lock off as it's very difficult to read your posts.

Caps also signify that you're shouting at the reader ...

Thanks,

The bad economy is actually good for my business. I made almost twice as much last year as I did the year before, I actually doubled my staff too. The only thing I don't like is WHO do you buy from? Will they be there for as long as your warranty?

I see a lot of new companies starting up in the near future, to take up the slack from the big ones that are gone. It's time to buy "Local" and support your community and neighbors. Keep the money at home, try NOT to buy online, it helps almost no one. It's not local and most of the time there are no Taxes being paid, sure that keeps cost down, but what pays for the LEO's, fire departments and Road repairs, TAXES!

my $.02
