My company has announced major worldwide layoffs this past week. I missed the cut today...whew! Another 2000 in our state gone though. I think this is gonna be a rough year.

tighedog, i'm glad you made the cut!! i've been working from 8 to 32 hours a week when i normally would be working overtime this time of year.we have half of our company laid off, when we usually have 20 millwrights out of the hall working for us.i do have to say, this downturn in our economy came on fast and looks like it is going to last for more than a year. we have bids out for work in sept-dec of this year and the money/p.o.'s are not coming in.good luck to you, spudwrench

Oh gosh, it's getting worse every day it seems. Glad you didn't get on that list. Hang in there. I have been through many recessions and never even noticed, but, this one has my attention and I am a bit worried. I haven't had any sales for my embroidery business in 6 months. Good thing I have a couple of corporate aircraft to manage. But, my employer is a DOD contractor. I think you will understand my concern now with the recent changes in the white house. Scary.

The depth of the current recession is scary. It is probably going to get deeper this coming year. Hopefully, we will all make our way until we "break on through to the other side" of this mess. I am hopeful this turns into a wake-up call to corporate America. I try my best to by "made in the USA", but that is more difficult than ever. Glad you're still on the job!
