I'm with Nobull60.....my best ride was the last one out of there back to the west. Had some miserable years down there, not saying its floridas fault but it didnt help much. Plus I'm from where there is something taller than a freeway overpass and I like that.
If I had to pick a ride it would just be moseying down the west coast along the gulf.

I'm in the Panhandle and like to stop at Pensacola Beach and follow the coast road. Get a condo suite and hit some of the beach bars. Next morning I like to run down hwy 399 then hwy 98 stopping at Panama City (Thunder Beach) and stay in a hotel and see the sights. Then back towards pensacola on day 3. I always find something different to do on each trip.

MikeyD I had some friends that did that route last weekend on their way to Clearwater and they said it was great. Wish I would have went now.

PM me if you want info on the Star Riding group's monthly ride for February.

Some of the prettiest riding in Florida is north central Florida, especially the horse farm country south of Jacksonville to the Ocala national Forest. Nice winding roads with overhead oak canopies. All around Micanopy, where the movie Doc Holiday was filmed, is georgious. That area is rated #1 in the US for bicyle riding and training. Lots of eco-tourism in the area, springs, lakes, prairies (swamps),waterways, etc.

For a rather short stretch north of Ormond Beach into Flagler Beach and up through the Marineland area, there are several miles of A1A with no development on the ocean side of the road. Just A1A, sand and water. It is my favorite ride. If you continue north thru Palm Coast towards St. Augustine, there are some beautiful sections of A1A, where the intracoastal comes very close to the ocean.

Man, I need some free time. I want to hit the road just writing about it. Stay safe!
