Highway Pegs 1 Year, 9 Months ago
I have the small Yamaha Engine Guards that I purchased because I wanted a less obtrusive presence. I want to put some foot pegs on there and I suspect the Kuryaken type that has rotatation in two axis are the only ones that will work properly because of the shape of the bars.

Has anyone out there already put the foot pegs on these bars? If so how did it work out? Were you satisfied with the solution you came up with?

I guess if I purchased the Kury... pegs and mounts I could always use them on a different bar if I decided to go another way,

I had the Kuryaken longhorns on my small Yami bars. Worked great. I changed over to the big bars because I wanted the obtrusive look! Big bike = big bars - - IMHO. Anyway, I was very happy with the Kuryakens. The 2 axis adjustability really helped get them lined up. Hope this helps!

Thanx for the reply.
You're saying you used the clamps and mounts that had the 2 axis adjustability? Just want to be sure.

Yes. They're the Kury Longhorn Offset Duallies to be specific. Page 321 of the latest J&P Metric Catalog. I'm not long legged, so being able to swing them towards me, as opposed to coming straight out from the engine guards, was very helpful. I haven't put them on my big bars yet. Just haven't taken the time.
Again, I hope this helps!

I have the Kuryakyn pegs on my big bars too, they are solid and very heavy. But very good quality and awesome product!

I have the small Yamaha Engine guards on my 06 Silverado, and the Kury highway pegs with the 2 way adjustment. I am not long legged, at 6" tall I have a short 32" inseam, so reach is an issue. The other big issue is clearance to Brake pedal and shifter. I have placed the Kury mounts as high as I can on the engine gaurds, and rotated them forward to about 30 degrees. I have just enough clearance for my big feet to hit the brake and shifter, and I can reach the highway pegs if I slide forward on the seat. I have also added Barons Kick Back risers to get the bars a little closer to me and that has made a world of differnce in the comfort of my highway pegs. I guess to answer your question, yes you can do it, but it is not as ideal as mounting them on a Big Bar.

Good stuff, thanks for the heads up on the offset pegs. I'm one of those guys that's tall from the waist up with stubby legs. I'll be ordering a pair of these.

Bob, did your Kick Back risers go on okay? They say they'll work with the stock cables but I've read somewhere around here that someone had trouble with the lengths. I have some Kick Backs but it's too dang cold in the garage right now to put em on.

04Roadrider...Can you tell me which pegs, clamps, etc you purchased for your 1 1/2 inch big bars? I bought the Cobra fatty bars and would like some peg advice from someone who has installed them. Thanks in advance.

Lmao ,,,,,,,,,, I have the small engine guards and kuryakyn's lrg. ISO offset footpegs in my Spring install stash . Have seen them mounted to other Roadie's on RsR forum. With the offset can be adjusted forward or back depending apon inseam. Betting the entire purchase price they will work great ...... already know they look great.
