They went on without a hitch. You will need to take the cable guides mounted under the top to the triple clamp out and set that aside. I routed all the cables over the top of the windshield and down the center and other than the brake line is a little snug I have no issues. There are 2 plastic retainers on the clutch cable on the left side frame upright. I took the op one off and retained the lower one with the adjuster in it to gain some slack for the Clutch cable.

Use some blue locktight on the bolts I am finding a lot of loose bolts on my scooter when I do not lock tight them even if I carefully follow otrque guidlines.

It looks great and really makes the scooter more comfortable for me. It took a few rides to get used to the change sitting more upright and back, but it feels very good now. I was even able to raise the windshield and still see over the top. Much less wind in my face now.

It takes about 30 minutes.

04Roadrider...Can you tell me which pegs, clamps, etc you purchased for your 1 1/2 inch big bars? I bought the Cobra fatty bars and would like some peg advice from someone who has installed them.

Dave,

About the only advice I can give is to make sure you get the right size clamps for your bars. When I put on my big bars, I had to purchase the bigger clamps from Kuryakyn, but kept the mounts/pegs I already had. As I said previously, the Kury Longhorns allow for a lot of adjustability, depending on your leg length. As for the pegs themselves, that depends on your personal preferences. I went with the duallys because I wanted something broad enough to support my feet/ankles without feeling like they were digging in. I tend to vary how I rest my feet on them, either by putting my foot directly on the peg, or hanging my leg over the peg with the back of my ankle on the peg. Therefore, a broader peg doesn't dig in. Again, it's personal preference. As for the Kury lineup of pegs/mounts, I've found them to be very well made, rugged, and well finished (i.e. chromed). I haven't used many different types of pegs, so my field of view is quite narrow, but I would recommend the Kuryakyn pegs to anyone.

Bob, when you say "over the windshield" what do you mean? Not too worried about the break line since it moves as a unit with the forks.

Did you have to remove any of the cables or just reroute them still connected?

Post edited by: RoadieFF, at: 2007/02/06 11:07

My Stock Silverado had the throttle cables routed below the windshield mount on the right side. When I put the risers on I placed them on top of the windshield mount more down the center of the triple tree. I will attempt for the first time to attach a photo or two for you review.

Post edited by: Crusierbob, at: 2007/02/06 12:35

I tried to upload images, but do not understand the instructions in the error message. If I can figure it out I will upload later.
