Ride for KIDS 2009...(Warning Pictures) 3 Years, 3 Months ago
Today in Pompano Beach, Florida was the annual "Ride for Kids 2009" charity ride for kids with brain tumors. Held at the base hanger for the Good Year blimp which 6 lucky people bid on rides in the blimp. This is one of three blimps owned by Good Year stationed in the USA. Its a great fund raiser and ride to raise money for a great charity. There were about 550-600 bikes of all makes and the guest riders (12 kids) rode in front in side cars with a police escorted 50 mile ride thru the Pompano, Ft. Lauderdale areas. Didn't get any shots of them as they were in the very front but after we saw them and they were thrilled....Heard they raised over $350,000.00 from bikers and sponsors. Here are some pictures of the ride, cloudy, windy and cool day for Florida.

I LOVE rides like those! We have an MS ride in June that usually draws about 300-400 bikes. Only 100 miles though. Wish it was longer. Anything for the kids. Going to try and get a ride like this going up here. Lotta work but worth it.

If that were the kind of snow they have in Canada, those guys would be GaZillionairs! We would all be working for them!

As usual I'm TDY and my bikes at home. I'm in Florida now Panama City and the scoots hidden away in my garage in UT, it's snowing there today. How come I'm always in the wrong place at the wrong time? I go back to Warner Robins GA in a few weeks and still no scoot.
Oh well the end is almost in sight.
Love these big rides especially to benefit the kids. I do car shows as well for benefits.
I get to see lots of bikes on the road here. I'd loved to have been able to have seen this ride.
Thanks
