I've purchased the Drag Specialties risers for the 1.5" Big Buffalo bars (the thickest bars on the market), and am ready to buy the bars. I'm unsure if I should go for the 13" or the 16". Here's a link to a guy who's running 13" Big Buffalos - I really like the looks of them:

I also like the looks of Tbone21's 16" apes. Hmmm... what should I go with, guys?? I'm 6'2" / 255 lbs.

:-DD.

Any shorter than 16's and you will be wishing you had the 16's... Then you will want to add risers cause of all the work you put into the shorter ones... seen it happen many times... You are a bigg fella like me... you will not regret going with 16's!!!

Now you just need to determine how to detach that windshield.

Re:Ape Hangers 3 Years, 3 Months ago
I parked next to an HD rider at lunch today. He had great looking apes on his bike, with the turn signals hung off the bottom, near the grips. I asked, and he told me they're the 16" ones, and he was uncertain at first if he'd like them. He said that NOW he would never go back to lower bars. I asked if he minded letting me try the fit, and he was totally cool to let me throw a leg over his bike and sit and try the reach. It would take me a little while to get used to, but I think I could really like them.

Good stuff,
DKLAZ

Chico -

Are those powdercoated/painted black? That's a cool look. I couldn't tell, but man, those are tall. I kicked my windshield up far as it could go, but looks like you got a bit more out of yours.

MadJacker -

I just bought a similar grade of wire, collars, and a crimper and got busy. Ran it all through shrink wrap, blow dried it until it was tight, and done. Important to stagger splices.
