How does this sound

Stator is rated at 29amp times a 12vdc bat. = 348Watts

60w high beam
70w passing lamps
tail light, running lights= 24w
dashlights, aprox=5w
Hit the brakes with the turnsignals on add about another 60w

Re:Electrical output 5 Years, 3 Months ago
ok
Brutha states 294 watts are available
294 watts less 2x 55 watt passing lamps leaves 184 watts..60 for the headlight leaves 124 watts less running lights 2x8 front leaves108 watts less licence 5 watts 103 less instruments about 4 watts leaves 99 watts to run
additional stuff like heated clothing
what is the output at idle and we can see why we turn off passing lights idling around town if they are hi watt outputs

and we could be draining on the battery

So any one know what the output is at idle

Cougar ????
too much on a circuit and we start blowin fuses and the 1600 is even worse

Brutha was blowin his headlamp fuse do you have any ideas why??? read the post no more blown fuses

oh yes Signal lights 2x27=54 watts 45 watts left plus brake light another 27 watts if 1157 bulb and we have only have 18 watts to run accessories

at 5000 rpm

but what happens at idle??? get my point??? for those inclined to go to HI wattge headlight and passing lamps

I am concerned because I put in H3 55 watt blue halogen bulbs.... stock is 35 watts
am I ok??? not overlosding the system?? can I go higher???100 watt H3 bulbs would be too much..

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/02/05 19:18

"At idle"

Kinda depends on what you have your idle set at. I think the charge is steady once you get off idle which I guess if you go by the book would be around 950 - 1000. Maybe??

Always possible that there was a wire that was shorting out somewhere and after he put the new stuff he he fixed that. Or something wasn't hooked up right the first time.

If the stockers are 35 x 2 = 70 then 55 x 2 = 110 is going up 40. Don't seem like a lot to me but I can't say for sure. The worst that will happen is you will pop a fuse.

Coug are you trying to bust my balls?.....Take your best shot I've been married three times and they've been busted by the best. Bye the Bye the sky is blue because of the photons shot out into space by the sun. By the time they get here they're blue from holding their breath in the vacuume of space.

Even at the speed of light the photons get a little blue. To show you how fast light is no matter how fast you open the door on your refrigerator you never can catch the bulb off, unless its burned out. You got two things going on there the speed of light as it smashes into your retina and the speed of electrons that race by the switch heading for the light's filament. Those little boogers are fast. You could climb into your refrigerator to check and see if the light really goes off but be sure and tell someone you're going in there so they'll know where to find your body when you don't show up for work.

Coug if you need any more help I suggest you find some old copies of "Ask Mr. Wizard!" He was Bill Nye the science guy in the fifties and sixties. It's old technology but you gotta start somewhere.

Addressing the post to someone might help so whoever it is knows to respond. I thought you were wondering about available watts, or amps, or bulbs, or or or Whole thread is outta control Or maybe it's me I'm going to study something easy like the string theory. Hope whoever is trying to see deer at night has success. Finding where they feed is a good place to start. Babble Babble...... My head hurts.
