Risers 2 Years, 11 Months ago
I was looking on ebay at handlebar risers, and noticed that there were a lot of Harley risers similar in style to the ones I'm looking for,
and was wondering how much trouble it would be to adapt them to my
06 Road*?
They are for the same size bar, 1" and look like the Pro-One 4" pullback risers. Has anyone tried to make these work on their Star?
Thanks
Denny

havent tried..but if i had to make an educated guess, i would say that with maybe a few washers, might need a different bolt i do not see why they wouldnt fit

I've had Harley risers on my R* several times, and I have yet to see a fitment issue. The only difference might be in the riser cap(s) bolt pattern; some risers are sold without the top part, and they might not fit with the original riser top. But I doubt you's be planning to use that anyway.

I had these on my bike last week and they fit great:

Thanks, I thought that they would work, but wasn't sure. RK, I don't care about the original Road* cap, I just need a little rise and
pullback, and maybe have room for a tach.
Thanks

RK, with the 4" risers do the stock cables still work?

From what I understand, most people make the stock cables
work by just rerouteing the cables behind the tree. Some
have to replace one of the brake lines, but that's OK
because I want to change to SS braided lines anyway

I did the Pro One 4 up 2 back and there was no way I could run stock cables in stock location. Throttle was sticking on a left turn, clutch was tight all the time, electric lines were also tight. Brake line was iffy. I tried to buy new, but I only needed maybe 3" but hey only offered 2" ready made and said over stock. Some people report that some stock are longer than others, so, how can they say 2" over stock?

I got frustrated and just ran em behind the tree, I don't like it at all. I finagled 2 inches of electric line, and moved the front brake handle 1" closer to the center of the bar. It works enough for me to know I need new lines, if I can ever figure a good way to get them and in the right size and SS quality. I'm not impressed with whats offered or how they sell em.

But, the comfort I got from the risers is well worth whatever it's going to take to get it back they way I know it should be.
I need 2" Longer top Brake line.
3" longer Throttle and Clutch cables.
07 MS SS cables.

I too use the Pro One risers, 4inch x 1 1/2 part number 801250 and all cables and hoses are fine. I just changed the angle of the banjo fitting on the brake master cylinder
