Any guesses on the MPH when the bike starts to spit. On mine it's around 38-40 MPH in first. Does that sound about right? Never used to hit it but with the new pipes and the lack of riding time lately I've been opening her up a bit when I get her out.

Thanks CURT. IF you could glance at the MPH that would be great since I don't have a tach.

I am doing this from memory so its not exact by no means. I think my rev limiter is still at the stock 4200 ( 2003 stock gears as far as I know ) . 1 st between 25-30, 2nd 45-50, 3rd 65-70, 4th 85-90, 5th had it to 110 and backed off,,,lol

All this was done before my last modifications. I have resently added the BAK and ported intake. Next a ignition box. Now hits the rev limiter way to fast.

Course you know with an uncorrected speedo you were probably only going about 105 I ran mine out one time and got to 115 and said good enough.(Well actually I think I said "OH S**T!! I'm gonna die!!! &quot

That's about 45 to 50 mph faster than I like to cruise.

What's this about an uncorrected speedometer... I missed out on this? You mean my speedo isn't right from the factory?

They're all off. Every make and model. Average about 4 or 5% I would guess. They reads fster than you are actually going which isn't a big deal but you are also racking up more miles on the odo than you actually have. This is why Speedo healers are so popular.

Top secret memo out of Yamaha said only the white R*'s had the bad speedo readings. They knew the white one's were slower so to appease the owners they bumped up the gauged speed. All other colors are spot on.
