sailrider says- "I just know that my engine cold is very quiet, but the longer and harder I ride the noisier it gets. ..... but the rythmic clattering and Clacking that happens at anything less than W.O.T. ...or at least hard acceleration as the engine temp gets up there would wake the dead." ......

Helmut says- "Sailin I am in southern Ontario and experience the same thing you are. Cold all is quiet hot sounds like a diesel. I was concerned about this too but have excepted it as normal. After 17000 kms in 2 years I am pretty sure it's ok. If not it would have blown up by now."

SVS articles say tons of stuff.... So I peruse the forum for all related... SVS is what's being described. In these discussions, on either SVS and/or valve, pushrod, valve spring, replacement/adjustment, I do not see a conclusion or an end. Is there damage to the engine or is this just a engineering nuisance? The SVS discussions are most dizzying in that everything from oil, oil changes, engine warm-up, clothes you wear, and time of day are thought to apply as solutions- a few I have tried and nothing changes (actually the more often I change oil and add additives the loader this sound gets). Is there any way to tie all these discussions together?- a definitive answer-- Do I go with Doc and rebuild/replace all stock parts or with Helmut and ride-on?
