31T pulley 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Hey fellas,
Am considering a 31t pulley on my 05. Can I change this out myself, and do I need to change out my belt also? Thanks,
cjc

You'll probably need to adjust your belt out a little more to take up the slack.

I agree I think a few guys with 1600 are at the very end and a few had to change. The 1600 come with a 33 tooth. While the 1700 come with a 32 and if you do the SR-2 Barnett clutch then you will even be scooting faster

On my '04 I did 4 turns out on both adjusters to get the right tension on the 31t and stock belt.

I didn't have any problem changing mine on my 05. Very little change in the place of the belt I think it was less than 1/4" from 32 to the 31 tooth pulley. You will be very happy with the new torque and power!
