I went to advance auto last weekend my dads car needed new fuel line they use to be open till 9. I arrived at 745 and the counter guy is like you know better than to come in this late. Didn't know him from adam. I usually go to another one, but I was close to this one. Anyway two days later advanced called and ask about my experience. I told them and they said I have discounts coming. I hope that guy gets what is coming. He let 6 more people I and complained the hole time. They are to be open till 9 and they stated they would deal with this. Karma baby.

Kinda like do unto others... and what goes around... eh? Good for you, Makcap. They are supposed to be there to serve us. They just don't remember that so well. Maybe he'll thank you for the reminder!

The normal advanced I go to they bend over backwards and are mechanically inclined. Parts stores shouldn't have people who don't know how to DIY. If it is all about customer service. If I get it during the day it's Napa but they seem to be short on stuff and need to call ahead.

I used to go to them all. For a few years I ran an industiral equipment company and we found out real quick who could and couldn't supply your needs and more importantly who knew what they were doing. It was Napa auto parts. They all do a decent amount of business with rebuild/body shops and industrial customers so they have to be on their game. They have never let me down wherever I have lived and I stick with them. More money usually but they get it right or make it right.

Of course becasue of where I live it is the Napa Napa Auto Parts store!

I don't know which is worse....clueless idiots behind the auto parts counter who don't know jack about cars or 18-20 year old college kids studying to be auto mechanics at Northwestern College who think they already know it all.

Think I'd rather have the clueless idiots.

I worked at Advance Auto back when it was Discount Auto and the Fontaine's still owned the company. It's amazing how much the knowledge of these people in these stores has gone downhill in the past 10 years. I knew more in high school then some of the manager's do now. I try to give my business to local guys they seem more knowledgeable in my book. Someone said it best, know what you need before you ever go in and you're probably safe.
