I use some products from a company called corrosionx. Re-Jex is something I use on Windshield and paint. They also make speedx which I recommend highly. Proved its value to me on a squirrel cage fan I keep in shop. After 15 minutes the bearing pillow blocks would be scorching hot. I used the speed x and can run it all day and they dont even get warm now. The Rejex makes the bugs come off windshield and paint with damp sponge. Great Stuff

I don't know if any of you have heard of "Autosol", comes in tube the size of toothpaste and almost has the same consistancy. Its a polish fot all metal parts, chrome, brass, copper, aluminum, etc. It cleans ,polishes, protects and removes rust, lasting weather protection.
Use sparingly with soft cloth. I took paint stripper and removed the clear coat on the lower fork tubes of my other bike that I sold(1100 Shadow),the finest Emery paper I could get then the Autosol and a homemade rod with a polishig ball in my electric drill and 90% of the guys thought I had them chromed of polished professionally.
End result works GREAT ! Made in Soligen-Germany, its been around here as long as I can remember.

As far as CHROME POLISH, I must say... hands-down, that Happich Simichrome Polish is THE BEST. I detailed cars and motorcycles for a living a number of years ago (still do it on the side occasionally), and in all my years and experience with every kind of chrome polish I've ever tried, the Simichrome Polish is BY FAR the best. It's not just your average "clean your chrome" kinda product... it truly brings out that DEEP shine that's hard to get from chrome, and takes away any fine scratches that buffing cloths leave. I just recently polished my brushed aluminum risers to a shine (see this thread: How to make chrome), and finalized it with Simichrome polish (and a coat of wax of course), and WOW what a difference! Check out the Simichrome website:

:-DD.

BTW... In my opinion, NEVER use Never-Dull on chrome! It'll ruin it.

When cleaning your bike, you have to remember that you Polish the painted surface, then apply wax to protect. Wax only will not work, it will hold the imperfections like water drops and acid rain under the wax against your paint making it fade sooner.

Polish, then wax! Large water drops are NOT good for paint, they cause paint fade, you want the water to sheen off, and not stand as large magnifying drops.

before you wax you need to use a finishing glaze!!!!! what i do is red compound if needed then white compound then glaze then wax

Your are Right I wouldn't argue with you man Polish (Glaze) then WAX. Wax only protects the finish, not the other way around.
