I never understood taking pets on bikes but to each their own. there was a guy in here in town that recently lost a PARROT that would hang onto the handlebars behind the windshield. Apparently the bird blew off from a large gust of wind.

Just tie the dog to the back of the bike "National Lampoon" style.

This may be a little pricey, but it's how I take my 6# Yorkie riding.

I just put the bike in neutral with my dog hooked up with a harness and a set of reins, and away we go. "Mush!!"

Thank you all for the welcomes to the clinic.

Darn Oldie: I've only read about the dog helmets, but i've seen several dogs wearing goggles while riding. The other day I saw an irish setter sitting up tall in a sidecar wearing goggles and completely enjoying the ride.

I looked it up, and I guess I've been out of touch. Sorry. It just sounded funny to me. I've seen some people who dress up their pets, and always get a laugh from some of them. I don't dress up my pup, I don't think he would stand for it.

I've not seen anyone around here with a dog on their bike, except my nephew who lets his Beagle ride with him on his moped. Not that's a hilarious sight, he's 6'6 and the Beagle stands on the seat behind him with his paws on his shoulders. If I can get a picture of it, I'll post it.

"Doggles" are a good idea. The constant wind can dry your dog's eyes out, and they can end up going blind. A helmet? Meh.. Maybe. But definitely goggles. They aren't just for cutetsy looks.
