Congratulations Frank!!! I'm up to 95 hours!, one more hour and I will have completed 4 complete days and nights without the tar stick!!! Today was another challenge, it was not easy working in the shop on the bull dozers, I kept walking to my tool drawer for the one I used to keep my pack in and then I would just smile and grab the chewing gum I keep there now, and sunflower seeds! Keeps the mouth buisy!!!

RIGHT ON!! Yeah... There were a couple of times when I just walked outside and stood next to the bike... Ordinarily, I'd be havin' a smoke, but I just stood there, breathing...

It felt wonderful! My lungs are starting to clean themselves out and my sense of smell and taste are coming back.

Re:Quiting Smoking!!!! 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Thanks Ron! Good to hear a success story. I know that had to be harder for you and your wife that reality had to hit close to home...Myself, I should have known back when I started as a teenager, I lived with my grandfather suffering of lung cancer and brain tumor till he passed. Why I ever started smoking is beyond me, just young and dumb I guess.

BillJR, You can do it! Come on and jump in with our support group here. I can't say if I could do it cold turkey or not but with the Chantix the wife says i'm tolerable and she hasn't been hollering at me the past few days...of course she is thrilled that i'm quitting also...You definetly have to make your mind up that there is no turning back, no excuses, I have tried before several times and have always found an excuse within the first couple of days,,,not the case this time, my mind is made up, no turning back this wagon goes one way and I'm strapped in for the long haul!!! Chantix is expensive, with my insurance I'm lucky it about 1/3rd the price out of pocket, but if your a pack a day smoker and cigs are costing you $5 a pack your already spending $150 a month on cigs, why not challenge yourself to quit. More chrome money in the future!!!

You all are doing awesome! Every day there are times where I still think of cigs after not having them for nearly 3 months. I'm with you all day by day, and we are all in this together. I started this thread before my actual quit date, and have to say that all the input and feedback has been very valuable. Thank You All!
