How often do you have to rejet ?? 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Whaasup you guys , quick questions in hope to get good answers :

My Roadie is already re-jetted (it has been since I got it) but I am getting very low mileage , plus when my friend was "cleaning" my carburetor , he told me that my Mainjet was "selfmade" or at least it looked that way , I have been riding like crazy everywhere , and no it does not fail at all , like I said it is just very low mileage (approximately 85 miles per full tank , this are city miles)

So my question is . . . can I (or should I) rejet my Salma ?? will it make any difference ?? I have had my Salma for 15 months now , and in that time all I have done is oil changes , drive belt change , and that is it , can anyone please comment on this ??

Thanks Guys !!

Your mileage sounds a little low, you say it is rejetted, do you know what jets you have in it now?

I don't know why anyone would "self" make a jet. How did he determine that? City miles are the worst for mileage and the best at carboning up your motor. Get her out on the road and run hard. Blow it out. Hard to say if you need to rejet unless you can tell us what you have in there now.

I've seen main jets drilled out, maybe this is what you have. I never get less than twice your mileage, even in the city. I would rejet for sure.

Thanks Dude . . . This is exactly what I have , a main jet drilled out , so ok I am getting a jetkit for my Salma , I want to add that I have aftermarket pipes , and I use a High flow air filter (it's a car air filter which I adapted but it works great)

This is my air filter

p.s. This is what I just bought : LINK

85 miles to a tank?!?!? Does that thing have a Hemi? I thought the tanks that I was in the mid to upper 30s mpg range were bad... Any black smoke from running rich?
