TIRES 5 Years, 3 Months ago
I need to repalce the stock whitewalls on my '05 (front tires cupped at 5,500 mis.-guess that's what I get for not keeping them properly inflated).

Seems like I recall someone had posted that they had foun a good price awhile back on Metzler ME880s. can't find that thread.

Anyone recall, or point me to a good vendor? Want to stay with the WIDE stripe...

Also, can I go up to a 160 on the rear? Any problems (rubbing, etc.) doing that?

Spring is coming!

I would shop around and check prices. There's sales going on all the time. You can't get a Metz 880 WWW in 160.

n2dwoodz--

That was me...they just arrived 2 days ago, and they look perfect! Can't wait to get them on.

Here's the thread with the link to the store...

No whitewalls in 160s? Bummer...Is it worth shopping around for a 160 in a different brand? Everyone seems sold on the Metzlers...

Don't want to go with blackwalls. Like the look of the Avon "Gangstas", but they only make 140s, I think...

Hey Roadkill, did you stay with stock size?

yup, stuck with the stock size...didn't see any reason not to. Going to a 160 corrects the speedo by a few MPH and that's it...by all accounts, it ends up looking the same as the 150 by the time it's squeezed onto the rim. I'd rather just get the best tire possible in stock size and adjust my wrist on the throttle a bit...

+1 on americanmototire.com. Haven't bought a tire anywhere else for 2 1/2 years.

I got my WWW Metz ME880's (stock sizes) at:
http://stores.ebay.com/THE-MOTORCYCLE-PARTS-STORE

But somebody here got'em about $20 cheaper if I remember correctly (which I don't too often).
