Alrite before you guys have a stroke getting mad about another oil thread hah, all i want to do is dedicate a thread to using standard oil in our bikes rather than bike specific oil...
i dont want to start a debate about which oil is better or what weight to use, we all know 10-40 or 20-50 or anything in that vicinity as long as its oil and not synthetic vs dino debate.
i know that you have to look for certain ratings on the oil but to simplify it, i would like everyone who has run car oil in their bike with great success to just list what particular oil it was so we can have a list of safe ones to get without thinking too hard, and even better is if you have run something and it ended up destroying your system

I would have to ask the dealer what they use, I have 3 years of oil changes coming from them, so until that's done, I won't know, and then I will switch to syn.  |

I have a Roadie and a Venture. Just changed oil Saturday and only have about 10 miles on both since. Changed from Amsoil M/C oils and going to... Rotella 5w40 Synthetic. Roadie seems just an Nth noisier... maybe. And maybe I'm just listening close since I changed oil.
