Yikes. Not good. Is there anyway to shim them with a tapped piece of 1/8" steel or something?

I was thinking of drilling just through the outer sheet metal and doing a plug weld. I'll have to take it out and stare at it for a while. Something will come to me.

Musky, are you still referring to the baffles mate?...if so, before welding it might be worth trying a bit of that high temp silicon where the baffle seats in...should quiet the vibration a bit and act as a backup should the screws work loose... I used to use silicon on warped header / extractor flanges with great success...just a thought is all.

Edit...sorry mate. I read the original posting again. Seems that what you did anyway...I knew that

Yup. That did cross my mind. There isn't any rattle when both screws are in there. But it sure wouldn't hurt to have a little insurance.

On recent long trip I did that regularly and found a few loose fasteners.

Mate, I've been told by others that I've 'got a few screws loose'..

BTW...I love the new sigpic.

Thanks! Emu.... Musky if I did that then I would have to take my wheelie wheels off the bottom of my saddle bags.
