broke choke fix 3 Years, 2 Months ago
I became one of the many jacked with the choke and broke the adjuster on my 07 star over tightened and snapped it at the bracket. Tried to get one but their 2wks out. I sat their on my stool looking at it and came up with an idea,so I cut the knob off with my dremel. then pulled the assembly out of the bracket, choke is still attached to the carb.I then took the nut on the back side of threaded part its about 5/8 long and cut it in half made two nuts then put one nut on slid the assembly back in the bracket and put the other half nut on it tighted it very lightly. Then went to the auto parts and got pull knob for a 3/16 rod and set screwed it on the choke works fine it will work its way off from full closed to full open but you only use it to start only. It should work until Tim B. can get one for me. hope you guys understand what I did

I understand, you did what you had to do to get the bike to run Instead of using a wrench to tighten it I put thread tape on mine.I tightened it finger tight so I would not break mine after reading of so many breaks on the forums....Coug

Curt, you mean you don't take it off just because? I thought by now you'd be fieldstripping it blindfolded.
