tire wear indicator 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I have the stock bridgestone tires on my bike just turned 10,000 in the first year the tread pattern has no groves across the middle so I cant see how much tread is worn can someone tell me how to check this out. All miles are highway mixed with city 0 burnouts but I'm aggressive with throttle who cant be.

Yes, if you are smooth across the middle for an inch or so, its time for tires...

Look on the sidewall at the edge of the tread evenly spaced around the tire at 60 degree intervals are marks that show where the tread ware indicators are. Dunlop and Bridgestone have a triangle, Avon uses a cobra head, Metzler has the letters TWI, Kenda has a triangle and TWI both. When the tread has groves that do not cross the center then the indicators are an inch or so off center.

Thanks for the info Clifford. Bridgestone tires have a 1 inch patch in the middle when they are new thats why its hard to tell when its time to change, the tires have been great for 10000 miles seem to grip fine.

I got 12,000 out of mine they were getting close to the wear indicators... check the sidewall and that will show you where to look in the tread for the wear indicators. i had a fairly wide flat spot in the center tread still had groove depth as they come towards the center of tire..
