I went on a nice charity ride this past Saturday. There was approx. 150 bikes, about 95 percent Harleys. Everyone that registered got a really nice t-shirt. The back of the shirt was covered with a picture of a beautiful customized bike....it was a Roadstar. Needless to say, I was proud to be riding mine!

the subject of the post says it all..guess we werent comparing rider skills at all..

and how you can match or compare a Road Star with a Road King puzzles me...

The Road Star is a softail and more like a HD Heritage Softail or Fat Boy if you want to match and ..keep score...

I have always thought of the R* as better than a heritage and compared to both has a little of both worlds... specs show the R* right up with that of a Roadking size options comfort... not so much with the Harley Accessories options but still 6 grand less than a base Roadking.

Roadking has better brakes than heritage (R* has Great brakes from sport bike)
Roadking has larger fuel tank than heritage (R* has a tank in between)
Roadking Rubber engine mounts instead of just balancer (R* flywheel and good mounts)
Roadking stronger frame than heritage (R* still longer and more room than both)
the rest of the toys like floorboards, classic style and bags, cruisecontrol, windshield are all of choice and preference...

I got a good deal on my R* compared to the 18,000 of the Roadking I was looking at, and being my first cruiser style bike have gotten my money's worth so far never a problem I didn't create with the bike... so when money is not an issue I will have to decide (Harley Ultra Classic Screaming Eagle, or Build the Star with all the same features... and make it mine, for most likely less money than the Ultra) I have lots of guys I ride with and we all ride different bikes. we just ride.

We ride what we ride for many reasons, some for money, some for comfort, some for power... etc...
the bottom line is
WE RIDE!

Enjoy and always remember its a brotherhood out there no matter what we ride..

Not really I traded a Venture for a Liner then a Road star. Had two ventures and logged 40,000+ miles on them. They are great bikes.
