Oil Pressure Gauge Installation 3 Years ago
This thread discusses the Content article: Oil Pressure Gauge Installation

OK, looks easy enough, but what oil line/port does the banjo nut tie to? I've looked all over my bike (2001 R*) and can't find tie in point.

Dunno on this one. I'm sure someone will chime in here.

Go HERE

Enter your year and model. Then click on Crankcase. I think they call it a plug.

Right side in front of the transfer-case there are two chrome tubes. Go right in between them and that is the test port. It will be on the bottom of the engine.

Re:Oil Pressure Gauge Installation 2 Years, 5 Months ago
I'm going to install an oil pressure gauge on my Roadie 03 ...after reviewing the 'parts needed'list, I was left with a couple of questions.
The installation calls for a 10mm banjo fitting/35 degrees and an 8mm
x 1.25 banjo bolt. Why would you use an 8mm banjo bolt when you can use a 10mm banjo bolt? This would eliminate the use of the " o-ring" (3/16" id and 5/16" od) and provide a more solid and reliable fitting. Sooner or later you have to replace the "o-ring", so why install it?
I had a look at JP cycles website and they have the 10 mm banjo bolts available.
Can any one please tell me if the 'pressure test port' behind the decompression solenoid is the correct location for the banjo bolt/banjo assembly. I had a look see today and the only location to screw the 10mm banjo bolt in appears to be where a 10 mm cap bolt is located. This cap bolt is positioned vertically and is on the BOTTOM of the oil line housing. This appears to be the only logical location to screw the banjo bolt in....ie; remove the pressure test port 10mm cap screw bolt and screw in the 10mm banjo bolt/banjo fitting assembly ......is this correct??
Thanks fellas for your input and ride safe.
