Re:lowers? 3 Years ago
I did the same test for the same reason, but your lowers look better than mine did. my look like a big foot print. I did slot the angle brackets so that I could play around with the angle which helped. Now that I have the angle of the dangle down I'm redesigning the lower to be more of an elongated triangle.

My Buck's Lowers are 15" long and 6" wide at the top. They are triangular in shape with about 3" width at the bottom.

They made a big difference with the buffeting caused by the windshield.

If you have windshield brackets try this. Get angle and drill a hole tape as not to scratch. Next get some wood yep I said wood thin ply or what ever. Take cardboard and cut it so that you are a 1/4 inch to the forks but can move your angle up and down. You will need to play with this. What you are aiming for is a slight angle toward the bottom of the gas tank should be a pork chop shape. With the fat part toward the gas tank. I would say about 10 to 15 degree angle. Make sure you can turn your front without any interference. This will help greatly with the buffeting winds. Un like the lowers these will sit almost flat with the acute angle I spoke of. If you are going what is he talking about. Search wind whippers you should come up with a pic. Oh once the cardboard is right cut the wood. Drill two holes in the other side of the angle and take a ride. I would recommend doing one side and ride. You will go home and do the other right away. Then use wood to cut the plexi and now you have pattern for replacements.

I must be blind but I didn't see them on your bike. Mine are made by HD and are chrome... with a spacer added for the top.

Nice looking ride I might add

Save yourself alot of guesswork & just get a set of Buck's lowers. I have a set & they're great! Perfect angle, size & look. They're even cut out to allow for most highway bars. He's usually hanging aroung these forums somewhere. His website is:

I uses 1" aluminum angle iron and made my own brackets. Polished them up a little and cut out of 1/4" plexi. I love them, have about $18 in them and they work great.
