NEED SOME HELP WITH EXHAUST! 3 Years ago
I REPLACED MY EXHAUST SOME TIME BACK WITH THE FREEDOM EXHAUST TRUE DUALS, HOWEVER I NEVER REPLACED THE EXHAUST GASKETS FROM THE BLOCK AND MY LEFT EXHAUST HAS BEEN MAKING A HORRIBLE POPPING SOUND ON DECELERATION. I JUST BOUGHT NEW GASKETS, I WILL TRY TO THROW THEM ON ANY BODY KNOW THE TORQ SETTINGS THEY NEED TO BE ON? OR ANY OTHER USEFUL ADVICE BEFORE I START?

THANKS

I think the torque is 14 ft lbs. Not positive though I just use my wrench and get em tight. After you put them on and get them tight go for a ride and get the pipes good and hot. Then come back and let it cool down and re-tighten them.

If you are talking about the stud bolts that bolt the header pipe to the "Head", my book says 11 Ft. Lbs.

14 Ft. Lbs is for the exhaust pipe nuts, wherever those are. BTW, the engine block is the lower end (Crankcase).

The studs are screwed into the head. The pipe nuts are what is screwed onto the studs to hold the pipes on. I'm pretty sure anyway.

I found the illustration. The stud bolts must be the studs that screw into the head. Sorry for the confusion. I hate it when I mess things up.
