Help! Bike misfires???? 3 Years ago
Ok, I thought it was a gasket issue with my exhaust, however I replaced them yesterday and it still misfires. I got freedom true dual exhaust, and it seems like the left exhaust pipe POPS on acceleration and deceleration. I noticed the rear cylinder misfires off/on. I know its not the plugs cause they were recently replaced.

Any Thoughts, before I take it in?

Thanks

Did you check the ends of the pipe to see if there was any burrs or bumps that would prevent it from sealing? Is the flange bent maybe? No leaks anywhere a long the pipe?

Thanks Musk,

Yeah checked the pipes real good. Even when as far as putting high heat gasket sealer when I connected everything intact. So I know pipes are sealed real good.

Just because you recently put new plugs in doesn't mean a thing. I have spent 45 years working on airplanes; in that time I have seen a lot of brand new parts right out of the box that were no good! And that is with the FAA looking over everyones shoulder and the finest in Quality control.

I can vouch for what Clifford said. I am also a 20 year aircraft mechanic and I have also seen numerous new parts that were bad.

Same here, Aircraft mech in the Navy for 21 years! Parts fail right out of the box. Best reason for continuous maintenance, and being vigil about inspecting your ride before you ride.
