Are the silverado bags worth the money. Any good or bad info would be great.

They're not bad, but they don't have the greatest capacity. Also, the openings are pretty small. I can't get a half-helmet in one. I think they come stock with dorky bicycle-looking reflectors on them, too. I replaced mine with conchos that I ordered off of eBay.

They came on mine and their ok for some things but like Frank said you can't put a helmet in them. I've got some mesh bags that I pack clothes in and they are fine for that. But they are a little pricey .

I have a 1999 Silverado---and it came with the saddlebags---studded as well---but I wouldn't buy them for the cost of almost $1200-- I think from the stealrship---and yes I can't even fit my helmut into them when I ride in PA or DE---so I just strap my helmut to my passenger back rest and ride on---Ronnie in MD VROOM VROOM

I have the stock leather Silverado bags with studs. I think they are nice but kinda small, plus if you have aftermarket pipes like I do (3" HK's) they look rather out of place - lots of air between the bottom of the bags & the pipes. It's on my list to replace them eventually, but other things are more important to me & I don't have the cash right now. If anyone wants to contribute to the Fastjohnny Bag Fund......

I thought they looked ok as long as you lower them. There are better buys on the aftermarket side. JMO

Re:Silverado Bags 3 Years ago
this is my third Silverado, bags on all three, WORTHLESS. they will hold very little and the opening restricts it even more, and the price is absolutely ridiculous. Much better bags out there for just a little more. my $.02 worth

Re:Silverado Bags 3 Years ago
Got 'em on my 06 Silverado. They do the job for me..... and thats hold my rainsuits, spare tools, flat repair kit in one side and then my half-cover, cellphone and handi-talkie in the other, plus all the other stuff too!

Been on 2 long distance trips.... they do well if you know how to pack tight. Waterproof they are not! But.... I wrap everything in ziplock bags.

Considering they came on the bike..... I'm not gonna complain!

Just my $1.75 ( adjusted for inflation )
