Without letting you ride someones bike to hear it.. It is very normal. And it can be loud. Syn oil did nothing to quiet mine done. But almost everyone here will tell you when they get hot.. they knock. I can off a Honda myself it used to drive me nuts.

Took the bike back to the dealer and had 2 of the mechanics take it out. they both came back and said somethings not right. This is the second time its been there of knocking when it gets hot. First time they say they torn it down but couldn't find anything wrong, everything was within spec. If some bikes do it and others don't, what the difference between the two. There's got to be a reason.

I think all RS's do it just some owners have better hearing than others. Synthetic oil, Valve adjust, if it runs run it.
