There is a tremendous amount of info here at the forum. I will see something and then go look for it later... nothing.

and sometimes it is one little bit of info buried in a long thread. So now i cut and paste into a pdf file i set up for interesting factoids and instructions...

bottom line... i think it is great that this thread was pulled up from a year ago and used by a newbie like me! Thanks MS1700!

Re:Transfer Case Gear Lube Change. 4 Days, 21 Hours ago
Just did mine and it was pretty straight forward, although I did have a couple of "hmmm" moments. First when I found what was suppose to be the drain bolt and it was 12mm instead of 13, figured wtf and took it out... oil of some type came out so that was good. Then after it drained oil started coming out of the check level hole immediately, figured it was because my bike wasnt perfectly straight up and the funnel i used didnt go in the hole very far, so i put the check level screw back in, filled her up till it came out the fill hole (about 1/2 quart), made sure the bike was straight up and down and pulled the check level plug until it stopped dripping. Peeked inside and there sure isnt alot of oil in there, just enough to cover the bottom part of the chain / gear or whatever is meshing around in there. Guess i will find out how it went when i take her for a spin...
