Paul Milner's passenger foot peg mod 3 Years, 8 Months ago
I COPIED WHAT HE WROTE ON HIS SITE TO MAKE THE MOD, AND TOOK PICTURES OF WHAT I ENDED UP WITH. MY WIFE NOW LOVES THE BIKE, COMPLETLEY!!! WOO HOO!!! I'M NOW GETTING EGGS, BACON, AND GRITS FOR BREAKFAST & STEAK/POTATOES FOR DINNER, WHAT ELSE COULD A GUY ASK FOR?!?!?!?
(I have the kury floorboards and brackets)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(from Paul Milner's site):
I believe that the passenger foot pegs are set to high, causing the passenger to have an unnatural bent leg which can be uncomfortable on a long journey.

This is how I modified my passenger pegs.

Remove the passenger pegs and their brackets, remove the pegs from the brackets. I have replaced the pegs with passenger floorboards, of course this is a matter of personal taste.

Now, fit the right hand bracket to the left hand side of the bike - only use the front bolt.
Fit the left hand bracket to the right hand side of the bike - only use the front bolt.

You can now rotate the brackets forward approx 40*, when the optimal position has been achieved tighten the bolt.
Now you can mark ( left and right ) the position of the new holes that you are going to drill in the bracket for the rear mounting bolt.

Remove the brackets from the bike and drill your pre marked holes, at this point you can fill the old holes or leave them alone in case you think you ever want to reverse this modification. After you have cleaned up the brackets you can give them a squirt with a black spray can.

Now you can fit the brackets on the bike ( on the left hand side I fashioned 2 6mm spacers to clear the Pully Cover ) and adjust the pegs to taste.

PS- It's tough to get a good picture of the passenger floorboards...lol

I love this idea. My wife complained of being a little cramped last time we got out on the bike as well. Looks like a good Saturday project!!!
