DG Hard-Krome 3" Straight Baffle Modification 3 Years ago

This thread discusses the Content article: DG Hard-Krome 3" Straight Baffle Modification

This is a question for okbye1 I have purchased the Ace strainers but they don't fit. Did you have to grind them down? Will they fit if I take the ends off first?
I have a 2002 Volusia with the 3" Big Straights and even with the Hard Kore Baffles they are a little too loud. I was hoping to make this mod work.
