OEM computers do not map correctly for aftermarket pipes or air intake. Not one Yamaha Service manual or bulletin or owners manual states a computer will self adjust.I cannot find one Yamaha tech to back this up. One of the few that state they self adjust is Harley but they don't . The only one that can truly claim this is Big Dog . I know this because I personaly know these veteran mechanics . Check your plugs after 200 hard miles and see what they look like. They should be medium tan to grey, not off white. Doomed

I've got about 3000 miles on mine since the mods and no problems! By definition that is what a closed loop EFI does. It monitors and adjusts the mixture for the current conditions and it makes these adjustments several times a second. Of course there are limitations to these adjustments and I'm sure they vary between manufacturers, however in my experience and plenty of other riders experience, the YAMI system works very well and the addition of aftermarket pipes and BAK apparently fall within it's parameters. IMHO it is a case of "Don't fix what's not broke".
