Electrosports ESG752 High Output Stator 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi RSC,
I'm Evan Grist, I've recently taken over the R&D Department here.
I'm working on finishing up development on our ESG752 stator for the 1600/1700 star motorcycles.

A couple questions to get this started:

What is the output of the stock 1600/1700 stators?

Does anybody have a working stock 1600/1700 stator and/or flywheel/rotor they would be interested in selling for R&D purposes?

From my application notes, the 1600 & 1700cc engines' stators are compatible although may have different power output. Can you guys confirm that?

What exact models are the 1600/1700 bikes? V-stars? Roadstars? (So I can get my name's straight).

I have a modified version of our ESG752 being built right now, that is going out for testing immediately.
The ESG752 was built before I began working here, but looks like it had problems in the past.
I have made some changes to the part, and will see what kind of improvement I can realize when I have the part tested.

Also, what kind of electrical accessories are you guys running on these bikes?

Thanks!

Evan

Basically, a repost from the other thread, since it does answer a lot of your questions...

I have a 2004 1700cc Road Star (XV1700, listed XV17 sometimes). The 1999-2003 models are 1600cc...everything after that is 1700cc.

I sure am limited on running lights and things. I believe the 1700s have 29 amps. All I know is that I had to take the 55W Silverstar bulbs out of my passing lamps and replace them with 35W bulbs, because between those and the 4 brake lights (1157) I added to the hard bags, if I ran those and the 55W lamps, after a long ride the bike would barely have enough juice to turn over. So I'm stuck with low-watt passing lamps and much dimmer LEDs in the bag lights. Help!

Also have a lighted Pro-One tach...and that's the extent of my apparently overwhelming electrical draw on the bike.

Again, I hereby, wholeheartedly volunteer to be a test guinea pig for your new setup, if you're looking for one...

The 1600/1700 are Road Stars. The V stars top out at 1300.

The 1600s & 04 1700s have a 21 amp stator with 18 amp input to rectifier
The 05 and up 1700s have a 29 amp stator with 35 amp input to rectifier.

The 05 and up stators are a direct bolt in swap for the 04 and back stators. But you need to also use the 05 and up reg/rec when you install the 05 and up stator. They are also a direct swap.

That's about all I know.

Thanks RK, I was just about to re-post the info from the previous thread.
I appreciate the model explanations.

I may just take you up on the testing offer, I'll keep you posted.
I have somebody lined up for the first sample testing of the part being built right now, but I'll keep you in the loop. Where are you located?

Our ESG752 Stator will fit the 1600 & 1700 Road Star bikes, I apologize for the confusion calling it a V-Star. (Like I said I'm not very familiar with the model names of these bikes, never owned one).

I have a 1600 and have running lights and leds would like to have heated gloves and possible a vest. I also have a radio gps and ipod cig lighter. We would really like a great system to handle big loads. These are tanks without the proper power. If no one here has what you are looking for try pinwall at e-bay usually has both and fair prices.

OPPS I forgot digit tach, lean rich gauge digital, volt meter digital, and mechanical oil pressure with a light.

Help must have more juice to many close calls of no juice.

That is all Folks except my led accent lights I really think that is all, dang 3 power ports. Do you think I need more juice? A Stebel horn and a magnum horn now that has to be it.

My pleasure to offer...I do the same thing with my PC building hobby...always have to be "bleeding edge" and try the new stuff (hence my Windows 7 RC I'm uising now).

It is a genuine offer to test, and I'm located in Santa Fe, NM. If you need real contact info in the future, just PM me.

Thanks and here's hoping you breing it to market soon!

Checked out your site and you have a drop down that lists the Yami bikes you are asking about here: Stator

Thanks for the many responses guys, I appreciate the help.
RayJay, I know we have a current application list for that includes the Road* bikes.
However, since I'm continuing development on a part that I didn't start from scratch my self,
I'm double checking the applications as well.
Our website is very accurate for parts that are currently in production and being sold, but the ESG752 stator that fits the larger Star bikes is not currently available.

Evan,

I'm real interested in your upgraded stator, too.

I have a '05 Road*. It's a 1700. Accessories include a Hoppe fairing with CD player/radio and four speakers. I've added LED running/signal/turn lights to the trunk and saddle bags; a Stebel Nautilus horn; two additional rear speakers; 55w passing lamps; and, I often power a GPS through the fairing's 12v outlet.

So far, my only problem has been with the CD player. It draws too much power and will intermittently shut down when playing a CD. So, I don't get much use out of it.

I'm looking forward to your new stator.
